10th and FINAL Paramedic Savers Competition
The 10th and FINAL “Paramedic Savers” Basic and Intermediate Challenge will be held May 12, 2018. The “Paramedic Savers” Basic and Intermediate Challenge was designed to allow Basic EMT’s and Intermediate/Advanced EMT’s the opportunity to compete in a challenging and realistic scenario based competition. Many competitions are designed for paramedic’s. This competition is strictly for Basic EMT’s and Intermediate/Advanced EMT’s. This is a great opportunity to get our EMT’s exposed to competition, by designing a challenging scenario to test their skills and knowledge. The competition has grown in popularity over the years. Both North and South Carolina services are allowed to compete in this event.
This is a family event. Family and friends are encouraged to attend. There will be plenty of seating area for spectators. Breakfast will be served to all the teams during our team meeting. Dinner will be provided to the teams after all the teams have competed and awards will be given to the top three teams, as well as door prizes to all participates.
This is a unique three man team format. It is encouraged to have at least one member an Intermediate/Advanced EMT. The make-up of the team is up to you. All three can be Advanced EMT’s or all three can be Basic EMT’s. You can have a combination of both. If your service would like to enter a 2 man team you can submit an entry form. If you are currently in Advanced class you may participate at that level if you provide documentation from your training institution. Educational institutions are allowed to enter teams as well. All teams are required to bring a stocked ambulance or QRV. Teams will be dispatched and respond to the scene and work out of a unit. Some teams may not be able to bring a unit for budget reasons.
The competition committee will be providing a unit this year for any team that cannot provide their own. The teams are required to still bring their equipment bags. There is NO cost for this event. Thanks to sponsors we have been able to provide this event free of charge. This is first come, first serve.
