Marlboro County EMS Employment Opportunities

Marlboro County Emergency Medical Services will begin operations on July 1, 2019 as the primary paramedic provider for the citizens and visitors of Marlboro County South Carolina.  The service is accepting applications for EMS Operations Supervisors, EMT-Paramedics, Advanced EMT's and EMT Basics who will work a 24 hour on 48 hour off work schedule.

Historic Marlboro County is located in the Pee Dee region on the Northern border of South Carolina.  Emergency Medical Services has a call volume of just over 6,000 per year and will be utilizing state of the art equipment, technology and progressive clinical protocols.

EMS Operations Supervisor

EMS Operations Supervisors under general supervision will be charged with leading a work group of several paramedics and EMT’s providing daily guidance, mentoring, and discipline.   These employees will be responsible for performing in accordance with established policies and procedure but will also be expected to exercise independent judgement in the performance of their duties.

Required Qualifications:

  •  Excellent communication skills.  Experience interacting with community groups or forums.
  •  Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership and vision.
  •  Associate's Degree in Emergency Medical Science with at least five years of experience in emergency   medical service; or an equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required skills,   knowledge and abilities.
  •  Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  •  Current South Carolina and National Registry Paramedic Certification

Starting salary will be $53,440 annually

Paramedic

Under general supervision, performs skilled and technical work in Emergency Medical Services Operations operating an ambulance to transport and providing emergency and non-emergency care to citizens of and visitors to the County and surrounding areas.

Employee must exercise tact, courtesy and firmness in dealing with sick or injured persons and with the general public. Employee is responsible for performing in accordance with established emergency medical procedures and techniques, but must exercise considerable inde­pendent judgment in evaluating duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school and six months to a year of experience as an EMT- Paramedic; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Current National Registry or South Carolina Paramedic Certification

Starting salary will be $48,430 annually

EMT-Advanced & EMT Basic

Under general supervision, performs skilled and technical work in Emergency Medical Services Operations operating an ambulance to transport and providing emergency and non-emergency care to citizens of and visitors to the County and surrounding areas.

Employee must exercise tact, courtesy and firmness in dealing with sick or injured persons and with the general public. Employee is responsible for performing in accordance with established emergency medical procedures and techniques, but must exercise considerable inde­pendent judgment in evaluating duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school and six months to a year of experience as an EMT
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Current National Registry or South Carolina EMT Advanced or EMT Certification

Starting  salary for EMT-Advanced will be $40,080 annually

Starting salary for EMT-Basic will be $35,905 annually
