Duties Summary Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army. This position is being filled under the Expedited Hiring Authority for Shortage Category and/or Critical Need Health Care Occupations.

About the Position: This is a permanent position as a Paramedic with the Moncrief Army Health Clinic, Department of Primary Care, Ambulance Service at Fort Jackson SC. Fort Jackson is located in Columbia, South Carolina is a city filled with hundreds of years of preserved in museums, churches, monuments and plantation houses. Its mild climate encourages visitors and residents to participate in some form of outdoor recreation nearly year-round. This bountiful land with abundant game appeals to hunters, anglers and nature lovers. Columbia is also noted for its zoo and botanical gardens, sports, arts and local special events. The city is located in the center of the state and accessible from three major highways: I-20, I-26, and I-77. Both I-85 and I-95 are a short drive away.

Responsibilities Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation on patients through various techniques such as, intravenous (IV) insertion, intubation and drug administration. Evaluate patient's condition to properly stabilize for treatment. Operate a patient transport vehicle to safely move the patient to the appropriate facility. Determine basic medical implications of wounds to treat appropriately. Determine proper method to stabilize patients with physical injuries, such as, fractures, dislocations and sprains.
